We are working on a platform to address as many barriers to donating as possible. Sublime Fund allows people to make recurring donations to all the causes that are important to them.
Problem
People have to remember to donate.
Solution
While most donation systems do handle recurring donations, we emphasize them and for now, do not even support one time donations. So when users sign up with us, that means they are also committing to automatic donations that don’t require further effort on their part.
Problem
People can be reluctant to give out their credit card number.
Solution
By using us, people can donate to as many charities as they want while only entering their payment info once.
Problem
People might be wary of being spammed with emails and physical mail after donating.
Solution
We preserve donor privacy and do not forward personal information to charities.
Problem
It can be hard to keep track of donations, especially for people who donate to multiple charities.
Solution
Users can easily view all the donations they have made through us, and we also send a summary email at the end of year to make it simple to claim tax deductions.
Problem
Some people feel like donating is a waste of money.
Solution
While charities certainly vary in their effectiveness, we believe that future educational efforts can help convince people that charities can truly make a difference.
Problem
Some people are not fully aware of issues in the first place.
Solution
Our educational efforts will also address this problem by compiling details on specific issues.
Problem
It can be hard to figure out who to donate to.
Solution
We plan to create a matching system to help guide donors to the charities that are best for them.
We hope that our efforts will result in more people donating more money towards good causes so that charities can focus more on their core programs rather than fundraising. As a 501(c)(3) charity ourselves, we do not keep a cut of the donations. We want to maximize the amount of money going to other charities.
